The built-in computer that runs the web server is quite underpowered. I found the scanner to be quite slow in general, especially on startup. Note: The streaky lines were experienced on the brand new replacement, not the old model. After giving it a thorough wipe down with alcohol wipe and a microfibre cloth, the streaks went away and I got some pretty nice high DPI scans.
